I recently started working on this new piece (a future companion for Sora, the most recent sculpture in my Ancestral Figures series), and was welcomed by this beautiful sunset light when i entered the studio this evening!

I'm glad there are still many moments filled with peace and beauty in this crazy world. My studio is definitely one of my happy places!

This series moves through ideas of ancestry, spirit, and visual traditions found across the globe, where ritual objects and guardianship often hold quiet meaning.

Created from cardboard, paper, paper mâché, and natural fibres, Sora is composed of different movable elements, offering hidden spaces that invite curiosity and tactile engagement.

This piece took a little longer to complete than the others, as I chose to add compartments rather than a single, solid bust.

A quiet place to hide your secrets…I promise she won’t tell anyone ☺️ (Just not the dark and heavy ones. she is only made of paper, after all).

I’ll be sharing more details and images soon. I’ve just realised how many videos I filmed while making this one, and I’m still catching up on the editing 😅

It's time to introduce you to Priestess of Lada! ☺️

Inspired by Slavic folklore and mythology, she is my contribution to Curious World of Peculiar Dolls!
An online exhibition celebrating the enchanting world of art dolls, curated by @poetictigergallery

Often portrayed as a beautiful woman with golden hair, Lada is the Slavic goddess of love, beauty, spring and fertility.
Her priestesses act as healers, caregivers, and protectors of mothers, children and lovers, bringing renewal into the world through annual cycles ✨️

I'm excited to be part of this show and i'm looking forwards to see all these Peculiar Dolls.

Adding the finishing touches!

This one has taken me quite some time to complete.
There are a lot of different elements and techniques involved and I had to figure out how to make everything fit together.

But it all worked out very well and i'm super happy with the result! I actually love her so much that i'm contemplating making a partner for her. 😄

I just have to finish a few more details and find her a name and she'll be ready to go out in the world 🙌🌎

Although i'm very happy to have almost finished my first piece of the year and love how it turned out! My thoughts have been conflicted lately 😅

The world has been going nuts on so many levels for quite some time now. And, while i'm trying my best to stay optimistic, i'm definitely paying attention to what's unfolding in front of us.

When I started this account, I decided it will be focused on art. Not much on my personal life or on my opinions on social and political matters.
But it's getting harder to keep making and sharing art like if nothing was happening around the world.

And even though i'm a firm believer that art is essential for the well being of humanity, it does feel trivial at times.
Like this guy yelling "Hey! Anyone want to buy my art!?" while the world is on fire in the background.

I won't have enough space to develop all my thoughts on here and I don't mean to be a party pooper either, but I wanted to acknowledge that even if art is a fantastic way to escape, that it helps me a lot (and most likely many others) to keep my sanity, and that I will keep creating and sharing, it doesn't mean that i feel comfortable with this paradoxical situation.

I'm not sure how other artists feel about it, but i would love to hear your thoughts. See if it can help me to clarify mine 🤪

Priestess of Lada is coming soon to @poetictigergallery for their exhibition Curious World of Peculiar Dolls.

I'm excited to be part of this show! The opening is on the 17th and can't wait to see the work of all the featured artists!

This piece started with some weathered wooden pegs and a piece of fabric i had in my "I might use it one day" box.
It ended up taking me on a colourful and flowery journey!

I'll share more soon, but for now, let's fit all these flowers on her head! 😄

Making good progress on this one!

Most of the elements for her "body" are ready but I still have some work to do on her face and headpiece.

Then, onto the assemblage! My favourite part... when everything fall into place! (In theory 🤣)

This one has some hidden compartments, so I had to take that into consideration. But if my calculations are correct, it should all fit smoothly.

I'll find out in a few days 😉

Some have found new homes, while others are still keeping me company in the studio, but each one has been a true labour of love.

They’ve brought me many happy, peaceful moments along the way and i'm so grateful for that.

Looking forward to seeing where 2026 will take me! 🙌
