Hello everyone!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you, old and new, who are following my journey on here! 🙏🙏

It's been a little while since I last introduced myself and i thought i would share 10 things you might not know about me 🙂

• I was born in New Caledonia in 1980 and grew up travelling around the world on my parents sailboat. Best childhood ever!

• As a kid, I used to collect all sort of stinky sea life "artifacts" found on the beaches, to create my own little museum. From shells to sea lion vertebra, or turtle jaw bone... sorry mum 😅

• Creativity has always been part of my life and i studied in art school, but it took me two decades to be in a situation where I can actually focus on and make art every day.

• I love food and was a chef on superyachts for 20 years. A work hard/play hard life with a lot of travel and many fantastic memories!

• I once got stuck inside a cold room, with a malfunctioning emergency button, for about 45 minutes. I remember thinking how stupid it would be to die from hypothermia in there. Glad someone finally opened the door before that happened!

• When my parents first took me to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, I was mesmerised by The Birth of Venus by Botticelli and they had to take me back the next day to look at it again. 🙌

• I've met my Australian partner 10 years ago in a shipyard in France and moved to Australia in 2018. I love my life here but I must admit I really miss Europe too!

• I enjoy spending time in remote places, as far away from civilisation as possible, and ideally without phone reception. Like at sea, in deserts or rain forests, etc. It makes me feel very alive to be reminded of how small we are in the universe.

• I'm addicted to chocolate, especially the 70 and 85% cocoa 😋

• Pulp Fiction is in my top 10 favorite movies

I'm currently part of the Evolve program mentored

I'm currently part of the Evolve program mentored by @amykennedyceramicartist 🙏

I started Evolve 3 months ago and i highly recommend it if you want to take a deep dive into your artistic practice and get a better understanding of your work and yourself as an artist!

A part of the program includes working on our images, so i've played around with these two this afternoon...
All I can say is that 3D art is really hard to photograph! And that light seems to be either my best friend or my worse enemy! 🤣

But i'm enjoying trying! Because i would love to be able to take beautiful images of my work! Learn how to do it, rather than take 100 photos hoping a few will luckily be good !

I'll continue my experiments and also try with a white background next time 😄

When you are not happy with your work...

I'm not sure yet where this one is going, but I know i didn't like this part! 😄

One of the things i really appreciate in the materials I use, is that they are fairly easy to rework.
I can assemble these bits in a different way, use them for other projects, or they end up in the mix to make paper mâché. A lot of possibilities and flexibility!

And, let's be honest, there is something emotionally satisfying in tearing up paper! 😋

I'm excited to be part of the 2026 @openstudiossunshinecoast 🙌

Many artists are opening the doors to their studios from 17 to 26 of July, giving you the opportunity to discover their creative worlds and learn more about what goes on behind the scene!

I couldn't do it in the past two years because of other commitments, so i'm very much looking forward to participate this year.

My studio will be open 17, 18 and 19 July, 10am-4pm. You can find out more about the participating artists and plan your trail via the link in my bio.

Earrings or not earrings?

I recently asked this question in a story and the answers were unanimous. Earrings on 🙌

I spent a long time looking at her with and without them on, I took some photos, I let a few days passed, and for some reasons i just couldn't make up my mind 😅

I get stuck in my own head sometimes, so thank you for helping me make a decision! It was very helpful for my overthinking brain 🤣🙏🙏

Tomorrow is the last day to see the Odd Pieces exhibition at @the_loft_gallery 🙌

It was great to have a few sculptures, including Calaina, showcased in this beautiful space!
I'm also very grateful that a couple of pieces have found a new home 🙏🙏

I love knowing that some people have connected with them. That's why i like physical exhibitions. It gives people the space and time for it.

It's fantastic that we can share with so many people online, but I still think that there is more magic to art when you can see it in front of you rather than on a screen 🙂

So thank you again to The Loft for this last minute opportunity to make new connections 🙌 🙏

Beautiful light once again this morning 🙌

This guy has been in the studio for almost a year now. I change his location every now and then, but he's always somewhere around.

I'm a big fan of Edgar Allan Poe, so when I decided last year to try and make my first paper bird, it had to be a raven and I had to call him Nevermore!
The Raven is actually a very sad poem and I didn't mean to be dramatic with this name choice...but I couldn't resist 😅

He is the only bird i've made so far and i'm not really happy with him. I haven't found the time yet to experiment more with birds but it's definitely on my list. And thanks to Nevermore, i've learned a lot and understand better how to proceed for the next one.

One day i'll make a companion for him but meanwhile, Nevermore will keep looking after me in the studio.
Oh, and occasionally pose with me for a photo shooting! 😄

It's been a few weeks since @viviangasperotto came

It's been a few weeks since @viviangasperotto came to my studio to worked her magic!

It was a long time i wanted to have a professional photo shooting and Vivian has done a fantastic job!
Especially with me being very uncomfortable in front of a camera 😅 She made me laugh and that really helped me forget this awkward feeling.

Here are some of her photos 🙏 I'm super happy with the result! It's a nice feeling to see yourself through someone else eyes... or should I say lenses 😄

Made of paper, cardboard, paper mâché, and cotton ropes, each sculpture explores the beauty of the natural world and our connection to it.

A reminder that we are not separated and functioning independently from it. We are entirely part of it.
Protecting it, is protecting ourselves. Destroying it is destroying ourselves... as simple as that 🙌

Lovely opening yesterday at @the_loft_gallery
Thanks again to Dagmar for having us!

I've had some interesting discussions and got to speak French! It's not happening very often where i live so it's always nice! 😄

A few people asked me how long it takes to make one piece and I thought I would share my reply on here too.
For the large pieces, it takes 3 to 4 weeks. Sometimes more if there are paper flowers involved. It takes time mainly because there are a lot of different elements to make first and also paper mâché can take a long time to dry properly.

Once it's done, I can then try different combinations, decide where to place each parts, and finally assemble everything before applying sealer.
Obviously, it doesn't always go smoothly!
And I can spend a lot of time just working out how to go about it 😄

The Sentinels took me a while to finish, especially the hair. I've tried a few different options before being happy with it. Patience and frustration management are definitely required in my work!

These two pieces are currently at The Loft until June 4, as part of their group exhibition Odd Pieces.

I'm very happy that Calliope has found a new home today at @the_loft_gallery 🙂

A big thank you to this new collector and to The Loft for the opportunity to exhibit in this beautiful space 🙏

It's always a fantastic feeling when someone connects with your work!
When i buy an artwork it's because it has visually caught my attention, but also because it has spoken to me in some way. And I want to keep having this conversation with it everyday.

I like the idea that someone else might feel the same about my own work. It's a very warm thought and i'm very grateful for it 😊🙏

Sora, Riku and Kaito... a trio united by the colou

Sora, Riku and Kaito... a trio united by the colour red.

It started with some red, rectangular wooden beads i've found at the op shop and ended with three new sculptures 😄

I've used this beads on the first piece, Sora, and the red colour has sparked my imagination. One thing leading to another, it resulted in two more works.

It is such a strong and symbolic colour, like a thread of energy, running through and connecting each figure.
I like that a simple colour can be the start of something and become a guideline along the way 🙂
